The trial continues up along Big Meadow creek crossing several streams lined with beautiful wildflowers. To stretch your legs some more, continue hiking to Round Lake (6.5 miles) and then up to Dardanelles Lake (8 miles). Below are some brief trail descriptions. This is the second ascent portion of the trail. The trail is well maintained and moderately trafficked. There is plenty of shade throughout the entire trail. Popular with bicycles but they share the trail well. If you opt to push on to the junction, there's a cool cabin in the meadows (Meiss Cabin I think?). Right after the road crossing, you begin an ascent that's moderately graded and easy to follow. If you are biking please do signal your presence. Hiked it in early August.
